- How long does an automatic gate installation take?
- Most residential installs take 3-5 working days on site, after a 3–5 week fabrication window.
- What does an automatic gate cost in Auckland?
- A typical residential aluminium Automatic gate system lands between NZ $7,000 and NZ $14,000 installed. The cost depends on the Gate size and design. The duty of the motor owing to site Gradients and Gate design. The Motor and post foundations and Track Support are a big factor in the complexity of design and installation effort. We provide fixed itemised quotes after a free site visit.
- Sliding, cantilever, swing or telescopic — which should I choose?
- It depends on your driveway. Sliding suits flat sites with run-back space. Cantilever suits sloping or uneven driveways. Swing gates suit shorter openings and a classic look. Telescopic is the answer when you have a wide opening but no run-back. We'll recommend the right one when we visit.
- What brands of automation do you install?
- We work with the High Quality Italian Automatic Gate systems of Beninca, FAAC and the highly reputable Centurion brand. All systems are commissioned with photocells which sense obstacles in the gate path for a higher safety specification as standard. We service and repair most major brands.
- Can the gate open from my phone?
- Yes. Most modern controllers support a smartphone app, video intercom, keypad, vehicle sensors and traditional remotes. We set up whichever combination suits how you actually use the gate.
- What happens during a power cut?
- All motors include a manual release so the gate can be opened by hand. We can also fit battery backup or solar-ready setups if outages are a concern at your property.
- Will the gate survive Auckland salt air?
- Yes. We use Structural grade aluminium which is strong and highly corrosion resistant, stainless fasteners and motors rated for coastal environments as default. For any properties at further elevated risk additional sealing and fastener upgrades are available.
- Do you do repairs and servicing on gates you didn't install?
- Yes — We visit to carry out a thorough annual check and servicing program to promote the reliability and longevity of automatic gates systems. Environmental debris should not build up around gate parts. Moving parts need cleaning and periodic lubrication and electronics need to be inspected for condition and ensure they are pest free. For faults or failures we diagnose and repair or make manually functional until repairs can be performed . Give us a call to discuss your needs.
- What warranty do you offer?
- 5 years on workmanship, plus the manufacturer's warranty on motors and controllers (typically 2–5 years depending on brand).
